Your Bargaining Committee met with the employer on September 1^st.

After considering the employer’s latest offer, we have decided to take it to the membership and seek your direction for next steps.

In the coming weeks we will be holding a number of information sessions. As scheduling and other details are finalized, they will be provided by email and through our new website: https://cupe1063.ca/

Please watch your email and check the website regularly. If you know of fellow members who may not have provided the union with a personal email, please suggest they send one to the Chair of our Communications Committee, Stefan Gudmundson at [email protected]

While we realize members are anxious to have details of the bargaining proposals, we ask that you save questions for the upcoming information sessions when all members will get the relevant information and have an opportunity to ask questions.

In closing, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you a happy and restful Labour Day Weekend. It is a time to reflect on the fact that many of the rights we have today are the result of hard-fought battles down through the years, and of the need to constantly protect those rights, including at the bargaining table.
